Can someone explain the process for determining if a standpipe system needs to be designed for seismic considerations?

Needs to be braced per NFPA 13.

If the sprinkler system has to be seismically braced, the standpipe system has to be braced as well.

Perhaps paragraph 9.3.5.8 of the 2013 and 2016 editions of NFPA #13 helps. My bracing on vertical standpipes is usually limited to the top, and sometimes the bottom.
