Is there support in the standard to require a control valve supplying a combination sprinkler/standpipe system (standpipe isolation valve) so that a ladder wouldn't be needed to close the valve?
All control valves are to be accessible, but not necessarily readily accessible. I like to require that they not be installed more than 7-ft, but am looking for code guidance here. As indicated above, this is a requirement to be accessible and the 7 ft is an indication (that's why it is in the annex section).
