Does anyone know of a UL Listed 1-inch Solenoid valve?
And now to make it harder, the AHJ is specifically calling for this solenoid listing to be for "Fire Sprinkler" not just "Fire Protection" or even "Fire Suppression". They wish to require a normally-open solenoid valve (approved and listed for fire sprinkler use) for the sprinkler at the top of an elevator shaft and we're trying to work with them. A delicate situation, this is usually where I reach out to my technical services of the manufacturer I utilize (e.g., Victaulic, Reliable) for relief. This is an interesting article on UL / FM from the QRFS blog.

Not familiar with any general UL/FM approvals for solenoid valves. Only seen approvals with deluge valves, clean agent systems, etc.

We had the exact same request from AHJ to provide them a UL Listed 1-inch Solenoid Valve (a normally open solenoid valve, approved and listed for fire sprinkler use) for the Elevator Shaft in Self-Storage Project back in 2015.

Have you looked at Jim McHugh's remote test?
