Does any one know in 1960's and 1970's, what the flow and pressure requirements of 1-1/2 inch standpipe system hose of NFPA 14?
This would be for a Class II system. Thanks in advance. Sent in anonymously for discussion. Click Title to View | Submit Your Question | Subscribe

This was the proposed changes to the 1968 version. If you don't get an answer here, call NFPA and ask them as they can provide the info. The Sprinkler Academy (Cecil Bilbo & Mark Karr) also have a great archive that you could reach out to.

Agree. This was for standpipes not hose stations.

I don't know if this would be helpful but SFPE has a free webinar on Standpipes that covers pre and post-1993 requirements.

The flow requirement for a 1-1/2 inch standpipe hose was generally in the range of 50 to 100 gpm. The pressure requirement typically ranged from 50 to 100 psi. Specific requirements may have varied depending on the edition of NFPA 14 in effect. Additionally, local building codes and regulations could have imposed specific standards or modifications to these requirements based on regional considerations and fire safety needs.
