I have a project where the fire pump room is located on a third floor level.
Are there any specific requirements regarding the location of a fire pump? Is this location acceptable? Posted anonymously for discussion. Discuss This | Submit Your Question | Subscribe

Fire department access, pump room fire rating, location of test header piping and test header for fiction loss purposes. Is the pump diesel or electric? More information and details are needed for the forum to provide accurate responses.

Good practice is to have the fire pump accessible in case of fire.

Right now I'm doing the fire pump room the electrical. For 2 separate fire pumps two different clients in the same building. One 150hp and 60 HP pumps plus the 2 jockey pumps. I love doing the fire pump room.

Can electrical and diesel engine operated fire pumps of a 2000 gpm capacity can be installed in open shed? The area is also susceptible to extreme weather, sunlight and gusty winds
