I have a fire hydrant in a planter curb, and we will have some trash enclosures nearby.

Note that IFC does not require the clearance in front of the connections.

NFPA 1 Fire Code 2018 Edition requirements for hydrant clearances are not required, unless specifically adopted as noted for the state of Florida and elsewhere.
