How does AutoSPRINK compare with HydraList for stocklisting? I know many local fabricators are familiar with the HydraList files and I've used the program for years now, but I've also heard good things about AutoSPRINK - just wanted to know how the two compare from users on the stocklisting side of things.

As for usability & customization on the user side, HydraLIST is far superior but AutoSPRINK is a draw it and it lists how it was drawn...no over rides, no vertical tag issues, no elevation tag mismatches.

I came out of the field in 2004 and started using AS. It was not till later I learned the Autodesk programs like Acad w/ Hydracad and Revit. It was difficult using AS for years because ALL the fabricators only excepted .hlf files from Hydralist and while I could create a .hlf file the ability to edit it was limited using AS. Also I did not have Hydralist so I could not easily catch missing outlets and unwanted pipe duplications. As Dan said ALL the major fabricators are using AS now. The question was not about function and performance as my opinion that currently AS is the most user friendly. As far as listing though if you spend the time to learn the listing/fab manager and design your models accordingly, AS can be a powerful tool. I have fine-tuned my station and now I mostly deal with Autodesk programs just for the export/import process.
