There is nothing that says it is not permitted, contingent it meets the manufacture guidelines. I would defer to the cut sheet of the piping you are using on your project.

Agree with Alex to look at the listing. Was long time ago but I remember some projects where we transitioned to steel for the exposed pipe in kitchen and storage rooms.

The CPVC cannot be exposed in kitchens due to the presence of grease laden kitchen exhaust which if I remember correctly can possibly breakdown the pipe over time.

It depends on the actual size and contents of the storage room. The term small is relative; likewise with the term of room names being storage.

Agree with Glenn here. "Small" doesn't tell us much. CPVC is listed for Light Hazard, and this storage room likely won't be Light Hazard. CPVC can be used for small areas of OH1 / OH2 occupancies, generally less than 400-sq, ft.

My response is based on the CPVC product that we use.

As an AHJ, we have been through this in detail over the last few months on two construction projects. If you are using BlazeMaster CPVC, it must be protected behind drywall or drop ceiling. Or if run exposed it can only be installed against a flat horizontal ceiling. The BlazeMaster installation manual is very specific about this and we confirmed all of those details directly with BlazeMaster. I hope this helps.

The temperature rating of the heads cannot be above 165 either.

Check the manufacturer listing. Storage is not light hazard.
