I hope you are having a great week. This week is a 2020 update to a popular post from 2016 with a free PDF cheatsheet. It's usefully for novice designers or experienced inspectors, with clear code references and purposes of each of the components that go into a floor control assembly serving a fire sprinkler system. A breakout of each of the components that go into a fire sprinkler floor control assembly.

The cheat sheet for floor control valves, in the descriptions: Capped outlet on drain riser, it says no requirement. I thought this was required on a least every second floor when you have PRV's?

Colin - thanks for the comment - do you have a reference for this (standard or specific section). I'd be happy to research further and incorporate if so. Thanks!

Agreed, well said Juan. The site glass could serve the function of allowing visual of waterflow through the drain, and many modern combination inspector's tests and drains now include a pressure relief valve too. Good points to consider! Comments are closed.
