Workshop: Is a Fire Alarm System Required?

We are very excited to introduce our first workshop on this platform! These are crafted to help you practice, develop, and refine your skills as a fire protection professional.

A SIMULATION
Each workshop simulates a real-world scenario. You're given a task, and some starting information. Just like the real world, sometimes we're given a lot of information, other times very little. We have to think, adapt, research, dig, and ask for information to arrive at our answer. The path to get there isn't always obvious.

Inside the simulation, you'll be given a task. You'll be given some initial information. You'll have a list of contacts that you can ask questions. And, at the end, you'll provide a solution that'll either get kicked back or accepted and scored.

SCORING
Each workshop is scored individually, and these scores are combined for each user to have their own running tally. 

Scoring mimics the real-world. We don't just get an apple because we guessed correctly.

Just like the real world....

• We are expected (and encouraged) to make good use of all resources available to us.
• We are not only judged by getting the right answer, but also by how effective & efficient we are.
• That said, it's better to be a less effective than to be wrong.
• If we don't know, ask.
• We're not always given all the information we need upfront.
• It's better to ask for help than to assume and be wrong.
• Some mistakes hurt, others not as much. The pain level of a mistake is not always in our control.
• People are not always perfect. Always consider the source of the information.
• Try your best, and forget the rest.
• If we cheat, we only cheat ourselves. This workshop is designed to hone skill, not test our ability to copy someone else's results. Don't cheat yourself. Besides, there are cheat traps. That's all we'll say...
