The UL Listing for plastic CPVC pipe - states that the plastic is approved to be used for Light Hazard occupancies.
NFPA 13 does allow Light Hazard, but in a small Ordinary Hazard room with limited conditions. Will the NFPA 13 appllication void the UL Listing, since its listing does not mention Ordinary Hazard? Sent in anonymously for discussion. Click Title to View | Submit Your Question | Subscribe

It will void the UL listing in all Ordinary Hazard areas over 400 square feet and also no longer be NFPA 13 compliant as per NFPA 13 (2016 ed.) 6.3.9.6.

You can use the CPVC in small OH areas in otherwise Light Hazard occupancies. These areas must be smaller than 400 sq. ft.. Otherwise, you'll need to transition to steel if your area is >400 sq. ft.

When we say "voids the listing," is this a correct use of the word "void." This listing is based on claims by the manufacturer that were tested by a 3rd party lab to validate the performance of the product.

It’s just not approved, per nfpa 13, in OH areas larger than 400 sq ft.

voiding of the warranty is a nice way of saying it may fail in the field.

Why would it possibly fail in the field? What makes 399sq ft. differ from. 600 Sq ft.
