Standpipe for 1-Story Warehouse in IBC 905.4?

I am being told that I need to install a standpipe on my warehouse roof because IBC 905.4 calls out the location of Class I standpipe hose connection in locations where the roof slope is 4 units vertical and 12 units horizontal.

However, my building is a single-story warehouse and doesn't meet the conditions established in section 905.3.1.

Am I required to put in a standpipe because of Section 905.4?

Do you fall into any of the conditions in 905.3.2 through 905.3.8?

If so: Yes, because you were still required to have standpipe from those conditions. 905.3 requires standpipe if any of the conditions from 905.3.1 through 905.3.8 are met.

Building is an S-1 warehouse... conditions for 905.3.2-905.3.8 don't apply.

Who is telling you that you need a standpipe system?

905.3 will tell you when a standpipe system is required for a building.

If a standpipe system is required per 905.3, then 905.4 will tell you where Class I hose connections are required to be located for the standpipe system. If a standpipe system is not required by 905.3, then you don't need to provide hose connections per 905.4 because the standpipe system is not required.

A standpipe to the roof would NOT be required for a 1-story building. The reference to 1011.12 is why. 1011.2 only requires the access when the building is four stories or more and the slope is less than 4:12.

Can you confirm you do not fall into any of the conditions in Chapter 32, like maybe 3206.9 when Exit Passageways are required?

Request for standpipe is being based on roof pitch and servicing roof.

Building will have high pile storage, but perimeter exit doors are every 90' so I don't think 3206.9 applies.

905.3 only requires a standpipe system when specific conditions are met:
4 stories or more high.
The highest floor is more than 30 ft above fire dept access.
Special hazards -- large assembly areas, stages, helipad
So a std warehouse 1 story ,under 30 ft, and 1 level does not meet the basic height or story trigger.
Rules that talk about roof outlets ( 905.4 and nfpa 14( regarding roof slopes less than 4:12 only apply if a standpipe system is already required by code( for the 1 story building in the first place),
You don't need to install one in the roof.
Are there stairs to the roof? Not required unless it is enclosed in a penthouse.

Agree with others. Not required at all. From a practical perspective, I can't imagine a fire fighter even getting on that roof for active fire fighting during a fire event... but I'm not a first responder, so.... if they are up there, it's because someone is trapped on the roof I hope?
