Is Easy-Up Canopy, Indoors, NFPA 25 Obstruction?

Would you consider this (Easy Up canopy) an obstruction that can be written up during an NFPA 25 annual inspection?

Not unless it's bolted to the floor.

Otherwise it's just temporary office furniture:

From NFPA 13 (2016 Ed.):
8.9.5.3.3 Sprinklers shall not be required under obstructions that are not fixed in place, such as conference tables.

Not within the 25 report. It is not within the clearance requirements as defined in Section 5.2 of NFPA 25. 25 does not look at obstructions like this. If it were missing an escutcheon, was loaded, installed in the wrong orientation, was leaking, or a select few other things it would fall under the Scope of 25 for a write up.

It could be added to a supplementary report (Engineering evaluation) of findings separate from the 25 report.

The question is about violating NFPA 25 for the purpose of ITM standards. But from an AHJ perspective, who does annual fire and life safety inspections based upon IFC and NFPA 13 standards, this would be a violation, correct?

While that's a pretty dumb idea, its not permanently installed so it falls under temporary office furniture.

However, having been a chief offier / fire marshal I'd order that removed.

I m with Jessie. It looks like a “:display “ that will be there for a while like an exhibition in a conference center.
Not to mention “ all those combustibles “ being shielded by it —- foam cushion, laminates, plastic/ naugahide covers for the foam cushions.
I m thinking it might be for “ sound” and I m probably over thinking it. ( chairs look too close for anyone to sit )
So as it’s not “ raining” inside, I d order it removed, with or without the display.
Might need to change the sign removing reference to the tent that will be gone, too.

A loophole for the tent might be that there appears to be “ no sprinklers above the canopy” so it may be a “ non sprinklered building” or spray that would be blocked.
Assuming again the fire extinguishers are spaced as required by code, the code official would allow the canopy.

So if the building is protected by sprinklers, and the walls and ceiling was built as part of the display ( but not sprinklered) then the display room, requires sprinklers, and the tent removed.

This is not a 25 issue. It is a fire code enforcement issue.

Does the manufacturer state, or perhaps exclude, indoor use?

It apprears to me, besides the possible hazard, it's a pretty good deal, all that office furniture under the tent for less then $100.00!
