When using a draft curtain and closely spaced sprinklers at a floor opening for an exit access stair, what is the 18" depth for the draft curtain measured to?

The 18" depth of a draft curtain is measured from the ceiling down, like beam depth in construction.

You can also look at NFPA 204 for additional requirements as that is where 13 pulled the info from. The application within 13 is limited to those couple of criteria (floor openings with closely spaced sprinklers AND draft curtains 9.3.5.2, separation of ESFR & standard response sprinklers 23.1.2, and sometimes where not allowed as in general use within ESFR systems - 20.9.5.3, adjacent hazards/design methods 19.1.2 & 20.13 for example)
